The Agriculture Laboratory Association of Malaysia (AgLAM) was inaugurated on 28 May 2007. It was formerly known as Committee on Standardization of Soil, Plant and Fertilizer Analysis and it has a long history in organizing proficiency testing programmes on soil, plant and fertilizer analysis with the original aim of improving laboratory testing accuracy and ensuring standardized analytical methods among participating laboratories in Malaysia. This has been achieved and recent efforts were centred on new improved analytical techniques and methods that could be automated resulting in improved speed, accuracy and more environmental friendly.

Soil Proficiency Testing (SPT)
AgLAM is a provider of Soil Proficiency Testing (SPT) service. The aim of this program is to assure regular independent assessment of laboratory performance and comparative performance assessments with other participants.
Soil Proficiency Testing (SPT) supports participating laboratories in development of their own quality control program. Statistical analysis of the participant’s results is used for the laboratory efficacy assessment. The participating laboratories are given a unique code, and the identity of the laboratories is known only to Organizer.
